Our Language Matters! Aboriginal Place Naming Workshops

Highlighting First Nation Communities and Knowledge Through Place Naming in Language

Working closely with Place Naming Victoria Team and Traditional Owners across Victoria this scribe speaks to how the community and naming authority organisations (e.g. council) want to work together to reinstate traditional names. These Aboriginal Place Naming Workshops are designed to share knowledge & protocols between the local Traditional Owners, DELWP's naming rules and local naming authorities (e.g. councils, water authorities and surveyors etc.) to increase place names in language.
