Dayna will spend her six-week ArtsBox Residency drawing in local area spaces like the train station and Footscray Park where she will be inspired by what she observes in these spaces to deliver her Footscray Reflections artworks. Her development of these artworks into final illustrated posters will be on live-display at Footscray Library.
Footscray Reflections explores local Footscray public spaces, events and community through in-situ observational drawing. Come see Footscray through her illustrated artworks as they are developed in a live-display at Footscray Library!
MEET THE ARTIST
A lifelong drawer, Dayna Hayman grew up in Darwin before pursing her creative passion in Melbourne, now calling Footscray home. After training in design, Dayna combined her illustration and sense making skills to deliver graphic recording (live, visual, synthesised notes) and complex visualisation (strategic visuals and scientific illustration) projects finding a speciality in environmental, climate change and disaster preparedness & management sectors.
Outside of her professional design practice, Dayna lets her obsession for fantasy and sci-fi fuel her highly detailed illustrated artworks and short story zines. In these personal, creative projects she likes to build epic-worlds while exploring contemporary feminine representation within illustration and entertainment design.
