Youth in Emergencies Program Artwork Set | Client: Australian Red Cross | 2024-2025

I have been a regularly invited artists to support this pilot program helping showcase the value/impact of this pilot program to sector leadership and capture the experiences and voice of young people.

This program focuses on implementing 38 of 86 recommendations by young people for young people to improve their participation and outcomes before, during and after emergencies. Through the program, young people are upskilled in key areas like Preparedness, Response and Recovery, Emergency Management 101 and local community Volunteer Projects. Transforming young people into community leaders, hopefully delivering on the vision of x100 community impacted by them.

  • The final poster artwork won the People’s Choice Award AIDR 2024 Conference.

PROCESS SUMMARY:
These key messages were developed in an initial scoping discussion while exploring the pilot highlights, conference poster audience and desired outcomes for the pilot project team.

I was then invited back to graphic record the two day adventurous journey of 50+ school-age kids, creating summary artworks that had details reminding them of their learnings, locations visited and messages to SA Emergency Management Leaders like the CFA & Governor.
